The frame rate lags when I am watching a video and about 5-10 min in it will start to have frame rate lag until I move my mouse or press a key on my Keyboard. It also does this with certain games I play. I will add games as I find them that experience this issue.

Edit: This has been happening since I installed Deadpool the game
    Specs:
    OS:Windows 8 PRO 64-Bit
    CPU:Intel i5 3570k 3.4ghz
    Motherboard:Z77 Extreme4
    RAM:Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
    OS SSD:Crucial M4 128GB 2.5″ Solid State Disk
    OTHER HD:Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5″ 7200RPM
    GPU:Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 2GB
    PSU:750W Rosewill

To add I have a Cracked version of Dead pool The Game because I wished to try it out.
I had been told that My problem may be, “power management may be throttling your cpu due to inactivity.” I have updated my drivers and have run some tests and it seems to be around the 5-6 min interval when It starts happen.
It may have something to do with the torrent I had downloaded for Deadpool the game.

Im not sure what I need or how many I need to make sure the setup stays nice and cool.

ASUS P8Z77-V PRO LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s

Cooler Master HAF X – Full Tower Computer Case with USB 3.0 Ports
Corsair Enthusiast Series 850-Watt 80 Plus Bronze Certified Power Supply
    Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit
Asus 24xDVD-RW Serial ATA Internal OEM Drive DRW-24B1ST
    EVGA GeForce GTX 680 2048MB GDDR5

All that left is the cooling system. Im just not very experience in that category.
Thanks for any help you can offer me! :)

I’m looking to upgrade my current RAM memory. My laptop is the HP-Pavilion dv6-6117dx with an AMD quad-core processor, product number is QEO71UA (Don’t know if this information is needed or not). In the specifications for the HP-Pavilion dv6-6117dx it says that I can upgrade it to 16gb. I have 2 memory slots, and was wanting to make sure that the Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory (CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10) would be compatible with my laptop. Thanks a bunch!

    How good is this?
It’s budget so very low cost, about £140 in total,
as i’ve said BUDGET build, and actually the 5570 is alright, i’ve seen it play with worse components. I have already purchased CPU, RAM, MOBO, and GPU so there is no changing it.

    Hey,

I just bought a new computer, the specs are:
    i7 Quad core @3.6Ghz
    16gb DDR3 Corsair vengeance
    EVGA GTX 680

I’m guessing this set up will run some games at above 60fps, like World of Warcraft, so I’m wondering, is there even a noticeable difference from 60fps to, say, 80fps? The monitor I’ve currently got my eye on is a 60hz one, so I’ll be capped at 60fps (the exact model is an Asus VX238H). So I’m wondering if it’ll be better scouting around for a 120hz monitor. Does the human eye actually see much of a difference between 60fps and above?

I have a pretty nice custom computer but my weak spot by far is my graphics card. I want to upgrade it so I can play some of the newer games with high frame rates on high or ultra settings. My motherboard can handle crossfireX but I have stumbled onto a program (hypersli) that can allow you to run your computer in SLI mode on AMD setups. With that said I was wondering if I should upgrade my single GPU to 1 fairly good card or have 2 ok cards that I would run in either SLI or Crossfire. I’ve seen some people complain about SLI & crossfire so I was a little hesitant. Could someone shed some light on what might give me the best bang for the buck as I only have about $75-$150 to spend on what I decide. I did buy a EVGA nVIDIA GeForce GTS450 1GB DDR5 but have yet to install it. I was thinking of buying a second one of these & run in SLI but didn’t know if I would get better results if I stuck with an AMD setup since that is what my motherboard is. When I bought my motherboard if I remember correctly it stated PCI express 2.0 x16 & Dual x8.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. ?:^D

    My current configuration:
    ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 motherboard
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz
    Edge 64GB SSD W/ Windows 7 Ultimate
    Corsair Vengeance 16GB RAM
2TB SATA Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive
PNY GEFORCE 9600 GT 1GB DDR3 256-bit HDCP & SLI Ready GRAPHICS CARD
Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 850-Watt 80 Plus Bronze Certified Power Supply
I have looked at AMD 7850 Radeon as well as other cards from AMD & NVIDIA. I appreciate the advice given but lets be honest, the Radeon 7850 can run $220-$250 & is well outside what my budget. I’m not looking for the best card out there but just a semi-decent card I could purchase at or under $150.

I am planning on building a custom PC intended for gaming and basic needs pretty soon. This will be my first time building a computer, so I’m pretty noobish to everything. I am not looking for something amazing because I have a low budget of around $350. This machine will kind of be my test of PC gaming for me as I have been a console gamer until now. I am pretty much looking for it to play Minecraft very well, Runescape, Battlefield 3 (medium settings on 720p), and most importantly, Elder Scrolls Online when it is released. Here my my specs at the moment, tell me what you guys think.

PSU: Cooler Master Elite Power – 460W Power Supply

Case: Thermaltake V3 Black AMD Edition Gaming Chassis Mid Tower Steel Computer Case

    Motherboard: MSI AMD A55 MicroATX DDR3 1600 370 Motherboard

CPU: AMD A10-5800K APU 3.8Ghz Processor

GPU: Integrated (hoping to upgrade to AMD Radeon 6670 to use dual graphics alongside AMD A10)

    RAM: Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz

Hard Drive: Hitachi 320gb 7200rpm hard drive (this will not cost me any money as I am taking it off of my old computer to save some cash.)

Fans: 2 Cooler Master 120mm red LED fans and another back exhaust fan that comes with the case

    Operating System: Windows 7 32-bit

I also have a few more question.
    1. I know that this case comes with one 120mm back exhaust fan, but I have no clue on where to put the two others I am buying and whether to make them exhaust or intake fans. What should I do?

    2. I plan on running a dual monitor set up. I have two pretty decent monitors laying around and needed to know if my build supports it because I have no idea. If it does, how would he be done?

    3. Question on Windows 7. I already have a 32-bit version of Windows 7 on the hard drive that I have putting into my build. What is the difference between a 32 or 64-bit OS. Will having a 64-bit OS boost my performance all that much?

    4. Last question. I was wondering if anyone knew anything more about Elder Scrolls Online. I can honestly say that I am so pumped and cannot wait. When is is supposed to be released? And, I know the game isn’t out yet, but do you think that my build could run it decently well?

Thank You all soooo much for whoever answers this question! It really means a lot.

This summer I plan on building my own gaming PC and assembling it at home because it is cheaper and I like to customize things myself. It is an 850 dollar computer but the specs are exceptional. For the motherboard and processor, I am following a YouTube tutorial. In the YouTube video it says only 500 watts of power are needed, but in the comment section somebody (who was picked for best answer) claims that you actually need at least 630. I am planning on getting a 750 watt battery anyways, but if I don’t need to, I’ll try and get something cheaper. So how much power will I need based on this setup:

I have recently decided to make a foray into the world of computers, and my first order of business in order to educate myself is to create my own modest gaming rig. I’ve looked into the components and what I should need quite a bit over the last couple weeks, and have gotten to together what I believe should be a reasonable gaming rig. However, since this is my first time, and I have a horrible habit of overlooking important details, I would like to know if anybody who does have a good amount of experience could tell me whether or not these parts do work properly together, whether there are any red flags that come up as a result, and if this will in fact last me a reasonable amount of time. Thank you very much =].

Okay. So I want to build my first computer, typically for gaming because my laptop sucks. I need to ask you people, who are probably smarter than me, what components I should use. I have already decided on my RAM (2 Corsair Vengeance Blue 16 GB DDR3 SDRAM Dual Channel Memory Kits), but I want to know what CPU I should use, what the best motherboard is for it, what graphics card I should get, and so on. So here are my ‘guidelines’, if you may.
Graphics Card: Under $800, can handle some good graphics (Portal 2, Battlefield 3, so on)
CPU: Preferably Intel, since AMD runs really hot. Under $600.
Hard Drive: I would like an SSD, but they’re quite expensive. Areound 750GB-1TB or bigger, under $500.
Optical Drive: Not as needed, but if you could recommend some good ones that would be cool.
Power Supply: Nothing special, I guess. If there are good ones that can boost performance that would be great.
If there is anything I missed, please tell me and I’ll look up some.
I didn’t miss the monitor, mouse, keyboard, and case, I already know what I want for those.

Those are the components I’ve picked so far and I have to pick a power supply and I don’t know how many Watts to go for…

My Gaming headset that I had used for about 4 years now finally broke and now I wanted to get a new one. But as always there is the difficulty of decision making , and I’m not sure which headset I should get.

I have looked at the steelseries siberia v2 which is a cheap but good looking gaming headset, but doesn’t have really any features to it.
I looked at the Razer Kraken pro but then again it’s Razer so I’m sceptical ( even though it’s cheap)
I looked at the Logitech G35 which looks pretty solid with some nice features and good quality sound.

I’m most likely going to choose between those three but don’t know which one to get. I’d like some help in the decision making. What is important to me is to know which headset has the best sound compared to price and if it is durable or not.

Also what is the difference between the Logitech G35 and G930 other than one being wireless and the other one not?

I’m looking at the Razer Chimaera 5.1. But my main concern is that i have my laptop and my Xbox in different rooms, and it’s a hassle to have to constantly unplug my headset from my Xbox to move it to my PC. Will i be able to say, hook these up to my Xbox and maybe only unplug one thing to move to my PC?

I’m looking to buy a gaming headset, both for gaming and music, possible on the go (although this doesn’t matter). Does anyone know if music quality wise it would be best to go for headphones rather than a gaming headset, if there’s not real difference in audio quality (headset vs headphones )and there’s only a small price difference I would rather get the headset, but if the headphones sound a lot better for the same money i would rather get them and then a external mic. Any suggestions, also any recommendations on headsets/headphones?

Hey everyone, I need help hooking up my Afterglow wireless gaming headset to my PS3. I would really appreciate an answer that solves this problem, it’s been dogging me for days! I just want to chat with my friends while I’m playing online; I never imagined it would be this complicated! I’ve tried various setups as none in the instruction manual have worked for me.

I have an AV receiver that controls my home theatre system. All audio comes out of the receiver because the surround speakers are attached to it. My HDTV, PS3 and Xbox are all connected to the receiver via HDMI cable.

Since hooking the the white and red audio wires from the headset to the TV doesn’t work, and using the headphone jack extension to the TV doesn’t work, I’m assuming assuming I have to connect the headset to the the AV receiver. I just have no idea where to connect the wires on the receiver.

Also, as an afterthought, since both my PS3 and Xbox 360 are connected to the receiver, is it possible to have the headset hooked up so I can use it on both systems without moving wires around every time I switch inputs?

I appreciate your help, guys. Please answer in detail/layman’s terms, and only answer if you’re serious and not just trying to get points.

I just bought a Corsair Vengeance 8GB single RAM module for my ASUS N61JQ-JX014 laptop. It’s 3.5 years old, but I’m unsure if it’s suitable for my laptop or not (the salesman said that it’d be compatible). The module runs on 1600Mhz speed but I’ve researched online and my laptop only supports up to 1333Mhz? Would this upgrade have adverse effects on my laptop if I decide to install it, and since it only has one stick (module) and my laptop has 2, will this be another problem too?

P.S: I’d like to keep this RAM module for my future laptops should I decide to upgrade it so I’d love to use it for my laptop for the time being, if possible.

I’ve purchased 3 gaming headsets (Turtle Beach XP500, Turtle Beach DX12, and Afterglow wireless headset) from stores that have a good return policy.

Even with the $220 XP500, I can’t really use enemy footsteps to help me because I almost never hear them without seeing the enemy first.

I currently don’t understand how people can justify spending $220 on a gaming headset.

I am looking to purchase a new gaming headset. I currently have the Turtle Beach X12s which are AMAZING. I have had no problems with them! The only reason I am looking for a new headset is because the X12s do not work on the PS3 (I had the X12s before I got a PS3). I recently bought the Turtle Beach Kilo headset on Amazon but they were TERRIBLE. I take really good care of everything I own but these broke in 2 days! Anyone I talked to on PS3 or Xbox could barely understand me when I used this headset. I tried fixing them but nothing helped, so I sent them back and got a refund. So I am looking for a headset that is like the X12s but work on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. I’m looking for a headset that is comfortable, durable, has good sound (game sounds and voice chat), and is just an overall great headset. I was just looking at the Turtle Beach DPX21 and Tritton AX 720. I would prefer to spend no more than $130-$150 because that’s kind of steep for a headset… I would also prefer a wired headset so I don’t have to go out and spend even more money to buy batteries for a wireless one. Any suggestions? :D

By the way, I mainly play FPS games but I do play games like Skyrim, Borderlands, and Dead Space once in awhile.

I’ve read some terrible reviews on turtle beach products, but the word on the street is that they’re awesome. Any advice would be helpful!

Ever since I installed the drivers for my g930 wireless gaming headset my computer wont detect my speakers even though they are plugged into the rear audio jack. If I go to “manage audio devices” it’ll just say that nothing is plugged in. I talked to my uncle about this and he said it had to do something with my computer being confused about audio coming through usb. Sometimes when I try using my headset my computer will blue-screen with the error being the stdriver64.sys. And when my headset does work it might not always project sound when I try to browse websites such as Youtube. Is there any solution to this issue?

Hello, I am planning on asking for one of these two gaming headsets for christmas. I have been researching them alittle but cant come to a conclusion. Could you guys help me out with your suggestions and information. Also the Turtle Beach x-31s are wireless which could be really nice, but the Trittons have slightly better ratings, although they have the long wired connection. Also please dont recommended any other gaming headset.

Id much rather have a wireless gaming experience over a wired one. I’ll also like the ability to chat with the other players in my games (not only hear the game audio). Im pretty sure there is a relatively inexpensive way to do this and if all of the above conditions are not met, its alright; what’s my best choice?

I’m looking to get something that has high audio and mic quality, but is also somewhat durable. I really don’t know a lot about music or headphones, but I’d still like something good for gaming. I’ve been looking for new mouse for FPS games and if I put “good mouse for fps gaming” I always stumble across the corsair m60. I decided to look into and there have been a lot of positive feed back from it, however there is one thing that bothers me. The shape.
I’m looking to replace my logitech g500 because it has too much of a dip and is a too heavy for my liking, so I’m looking for something of a bit more flat shaped, therefore I was wondering if the corsair is a bit flat, but not just a dip like the g500.
I will gladly take any other suggestions of what mice’s I could get – budget around £30 – £65
I also sweat so much that the mouse starts slipping out of my hand (I sweat so much sometimes that the sweat starts to flow like water)

Hey guys, I am looking at getting a new headset, I had Tritton AX180′s but my brother broke them :(
I am looking to get an analog headset because I am hoping I can plug the mic end into my tritton dongle and attach it to my xbox aswell as using it for my PC.
I feel that I get better quality if I buy just a PC headset as in NZ the only XBOX and PC headsets you can get seem to be Trittons and Astro’s and they both have a lot of cases where they break, despite being expensive like the Tritton 720′s.

So my question is, does anyone have a Corsair Vengeance 1300 Analog Gaming Headset and do you recommend it? And how long have you had it and is it all still working 100% nothing broken :)

OR, can anyone recommend a good headset, I am looking within the 100$ price range, but I may fork out a bit more if I’m convinced it is a good investment.

I’ve been researching keyboards for the past few days and I’m completely lost.
I’ve learned about these cherry colored keys and anti-ghosting and all this craziness and I just need some help.
I currently use my laptop connected to a monitor for gaming (shush i’m poor). I have a gaming mouse and I really need a keyboard because my HP laptop’s just isn’t cutting it. I just started gaming and I play Skyrim, AC, & Bioshock but I’d like to branch out.
It definitely needs to be illuminated because I’m actually a vampire. And if it didn’t have a number pad that would be amazing because I never use that thing.

I’ve looked at all the Logitech models, as well as the Razer DeathStalker & Blackwidow.
Money isn’t to big of an object because I’ll probably end up just finding it on Ebay.

So are there other manufacturers I need to check out?
And is mechanical really that big of a deal, especially for someone who has only ever typed on laptop keyboards?

I was looking around amazon for headphones of this kind and the best I have found are Razer RZ04-00700100-R3U1 Electra Essential Gaming and Music Headset
    Link: http://www.amazon.com/Razer-RZ04-00700100-R3U1-Electra-Essential-Headset/dp/B005HMCCNE/ref=wl_mb_hu_c_6_dp

Can anyone help me find a pair with good sound qualities within a $40-$80 price range.

    Extra Info:
I use Native Instrument’s Mashine with Komplete 9. I’ve played around with N.I’s Massive program and developed some pretty good sounds and bassline synth’s. I’ve gotten around to adding some EQ’s to my presets.
I also have Avid Mbox 3 Mini Control as an audio interface said to give sound more of a natural presentation.
I hope this extra information helps.

Is there a nice one that has programmable buttons and a good battery?

I recently purchased some red corsair vengeance low profile ram for my new build and want to get a cooler for them. I’m sure I don’t really need it but it’s mainly for aesthetic purposes. Basically, all I need is a cooling kit, with red lights if possible for the corsair vengeance low profile ram.

I currently have the Corsair Vengeance C70 mid tower case. I like it but I don’t know if the Phantom 410 is worth upgrading.

    Both are mid tower cases.
    They fit my components.

Also if the phantom 410 is better, would it be best to upgrade to the full tower phantom 530?

I need to know which has better airflow, quieter, better quality, better cooling, and more features.

there are four ports of ram.
i have no idea on what i could do, there are four ram sticks in all four ports, and i did a memtest and so far it says nothing is wrong with the ram, but yet it blue screened and said “memory management”

I’ve got 4 GB dual channel Corsair XMS3 1600 Mhz ram already installed. 2 slots are still free. I am thinking about purchasing Corsair Vengeance single channel 8 GB @ 1833 MHZ, my mainboard can support up to 32 gigs @ 2333 mhz. Though I’d like to know if both Vengeance and XMS3 would work together.. Can two rams run at different speed at a time? or would the higher speed ram be tuned down to the level of the lower one? 1833 > 1600 so both of em would run at 1600 mhz or otherwise?
